size. L35cm x D25cm x H22cm
material. mixed media. clay, paper, wood, fabric, styrene.
Description:
This artwork depicts a 14-years-old me, a time when I was a boring and nerdy teenager, unaware of the future that awaited me as a miniature artist. I vividly remember the period when I read my very first book about making miniatures — it blew my mind! I was so into this book and excited to share it with my friends at school. Imagine, this was 17 years ago, long before YouTube tutorials were everywhere. I learned bit by bit by repeatedly reading that only book I had, and browsing forums and artists' blogs to pick up skills myself.
In this little space, a spark was ignited within me. It was here that I began to dream of becoming an artist. This corner of my room, filled with hope and treasures, was where I found joy and inspiration amidst my teenage life.
Through this artwork, I want to share the journey of my younger self—the chaos, the joy, and the dreams hold by a teenager. It’s a glimpse into the moments that slowly shaped me into the artist I am today.
