scale. 1/12
size. L25cm x D25cm x H20cm
material. mixed media. mostly clay and plastic.
Description:
Although I didn't buy Indian garlands myself, my sister did. During my college years, I worked part-time in my sister's Japanese restaurant. She would frequently stop by a garland stall by the roadside on our way to work to purchase a garland for offerings and worship at the restaurant. I have always been captivated by the fragrance and vivid colours coming from the stall – such a beautiful combination!
My curious mind would often wonder how the flowers were tied together in such beautiful patterns, and through this artwork, I guess I learned how to! This piece is a tribute to the traditional handicraft of Hindu culture, showcasing the skill and cultural significance in creating these garlands.
