It's a rather emotional day.
I received a message from a follower in Instagram, and this is my FIRST time ever to block a Instagram follower. (Although I know he still can follow me with another account.)
So this is what happened. He asked me if my miniature nasi lemak is available for sale. However it no longer is. Then I noticed he mentioned "sample" this particular word, so I was curious and asked if my miniatures is for any kind of purpose.
This guy, replied me honestly it is for copying and duplication purpose. He only need to buy one piece and he can make bulk production from there.
End of the story.
BUT, SERIOUSLY ?!
Sometimes I wonder if he/she aware that this act is actually infringing artwork copyrights?
I hate complaining, because I think complaining is not a good way to solve the problem. So I have to educate, telling you guys why this is important to an artist.
I make miniatures since I was about 16 ~ 17 y/o. It's been about 8 years from now. Within 8 years, do you know how many days and night I spent to practice making miniatures? Do you know how much of my pocket money were threw into buying tons of new material and tools for experimenting on new techniques? Do you know how many countless errors I had made in order to get a new lesson from there? Do you know how much resources I had ever put in to do research and learn new things?
I'm a self taught artist, it's not only a few hours or a few days matter. I have put my effort wholeheartedly to love my passion, to achieve my dreams.
I had always longed to be a miniature artist, and I'm really glad I've made it! I appreciate everyone who always support and encourage me! It takes so many times, money and effort to attain what I wanted to be, to build up the skill, relationship and trust.
“Talent” doesn't comes easy. You reap what you sow.
Each of the artwork is a baby to me. It's just like how a mother connects with their baby. Artist is the one who nurtured a strong bond with the artwork from the beginning until the end. And we love them more than anyone else. So how can you just simply buy one piece and duplicate my work for your own benefit? To me this is stealing. This is unethical.
No matter how, you can't reproduce artists' work for your own gain!
I'm pretty sure none of the artist can accept that their works are being copied or duplicated without permission. If you're not respecting my work, you're not worth to get even one.
If you wanted to do business, you should find your own vision, and STAY FOCUSED.
